Description
There exist seven assemblages within Giardia lamblia: A, B, C, D, E, F, and the less common G. Of these, only assemblages A and B are capable of infecting humans, while a range of animals can be infected by assemblages A through G.
The Giardia lamblia (A-F) qPCR kit is designed for the in vitro detection of G. lamblia assemblages A-F genomes. The kit is engineered to offer the widest possible detection range while maintaining specificity for G. lamblia (assemblages A-F). Consequently, this kit is tailored for the specific (inclusivity) and exclusive (exclusivity) in vitro detection of this species. The primer and probe sequences demonstrate substantial homology (>95%) with a diverse range of G. lamblia (assemblages A-F) genomes, based on a comprehensive bioinformatic analysis incorporating all reference data within the NCBI database. Other closely related species are not detected.
