Pneumocystis is an opportunistic pathogen, and infections caused by it have been reported worldwide, but the prevalence and incidence of infection varies from country to country and region to region. Pneumocystis is often co-infected with HIV and is a major cause of death in AIDS patients. The life history of this worm is not fully understood. It is generally believed to develop in two periods, intracellular and extracellular, with both sexual and asexual reproduction, and to be completed in the same host. The mature encapsulation is the infective stage of the worm and is transmitted by air or droplet. After entering the lungs, the worms settle in the alveoli and adhere to the surface of the alveolar epithelium, causing an inflammatory response and a large amount of foamy exudate containing histiocytes, lymphocytes, and plasma cells, as well as accumulating clusters of trophozoites and cysts in the alveolar lumen. The large number of worms and exudates can cause pulmonary ventilation dysfunction if they obstruct the alveoli and bronchi, which can lead to respiratory failure and death in severe cases.
Ace Therapeutics specializes in parasitology and has established a technical platform for the development of animal models of parasitic diseases, aiming to provide development and customization services for various animal models of parasitic diseases for clients worldwide. We provide animal model development services for Pneumocystis carinii disease. This provides a good model for Pneumocystis carinii morphology, life history and especially the molecular biology and preparation of monoclonal antibodies provided a good model.
We can set up a Pneumocystis carinii disease model for you in ICR mouse or SD rat, it can be used for scientific research and drug research of Pneumocystis. If you want to know more, you are welcome to consult us.
