Entamoeba histolytica, or dysentery amoeba, is the causative agent of invasive amoebiasis, mainly in the colon, causing amoebic dysentery and various types of amoebiasis, with a global distribution, mostly in the tropics and subtropics. It causes ulcers, abscesses and granulomas in the intestinal wall, liver, lungs and other areas. Amebas in the lysis tissue can be divided into two different periods: the encapsulation and the trophoblast, with the mature tetranuclear encapsulation being the infectious stage. Trophozoites can invade the intestinal mucosa, engulf red blood cells, destroy the intestinal wall, and cause ulcers in the intestinal wall; they can also enter other tissues or organs with blood flow, causing extraintestinal amebiasis. This is the theoretical basis for the preparation of animal models of Entamoeba histolytica disease.
Ace Therapeutics specializes in parasitology and has established a technical platform for the development of animal models of parasitic diseases, aiming to provide development and customization services for various animal models of parasitic diseases for clients worldwide. We provide animal model development services for Entamoeba histolytica disease, aiming to facilitate in-depth investigation of biological challenges such as pathogenesis, epidemiological patterns, drug development, and efficacy evaluation of this disease.
We provide intestinal amoebiasis model, liver amoebiasis model and others for Chinese hamsters, if you want to know more, you are welcome to consult us.
Animal type: Chinese hamsters
Carriers: Entamoeba histolytica trophozoites
Infection objective: rectum and sigmoid colon
The injection of Entamoeba histolytica trophozoites with increased virulence in the lysate tissue into the rectum and sigmoid colon through the anus of mice can cause a large number of trophozoites to invade the intestinal mucosa and cause ulceration. Trophozoites, encapsulation or antigens can be detected in the feces.
Animal type: Chinese hamsters
Carriers: Entamoeba histolytica trophozoites
Infection objective: subperitoneum of the liver of Chinese hamsters
Trophozoites were injected into the subepithelium of the liver of Chinese hamsters, and after 7 days, the liver was dissected to reveal an occupying lesion and trophozoites were detected in the pus.
Delivery content: experiment report and Entamoeba histolytica disease animal model
