Clonorchis sinensis is also known as liver fluke and liver leech. Adult Clonorchis sinensis parasites in the human liver and bile ducts, causing Clonorchiasis, also known as hepatic schistosomiasis. Clonorchiasis is a typical compound schistosome life history, including adult, egg, miracidium, sporocyst, redia, cercaria, metacercaria and postcercaria stages. Its final hosts are humans and carnivorous mammals (dogs, cats, etc.), the first intermediate host is freshwater snails, and the second intermediate host is freshwater fish and shrimp. Adult worms are found in the hepatobiliary ducts of humans and carnivorous mammals, and can migrate to the large bile ducts, common bile ducts or gallbladder when there are many worms, and occasionally in the pancreatic ducts. Humans are not the only hosts of Clonorchis sinensis. The harmful effects of Schistosoma chinensis are mainly liver damage in patients.
Ace Therapeutics specializes in parasitology and has established a technical platform for the development of animal models of parasitic diseases, aiming to provide development and customization services for various animal models of parasitic diseases for clients worldwide. We provide animal model development services for Clonorchis sinensis. This provides a good model for the morphology, life history and especially the molecular biology of Clonorchis sinensis and the study of Hepatic schistosomiasis.
We can set up a Clonorchis sinensis model for you in gerbil, it can be used for scientific research and drug research of Clonorchis sinensis. If you want to know more, you are welcome to consult us.
Model animals: gerbil. (The gerbils are easy to breed, economical and suitable hosts for Clonorchis sinensis)
The source of Clonorchis sinensis for infection: it is derived from whelk, and pressed slices are examined for metacercaria. If there are metacercaria, the metacercaria are taken by manual digestion and counted.
Replication method: We have gavaged the metacercaria of Clonorchis sinensis in gerbils.
Model characteristics: 45 d after infection with Clonorchis sinensis, dissection of gerbils showed obvious yellow bile, liver and gallbladder were obviously enlarged; sections showed liver fibrosis combined with bile duct inflammatory liver abscess, etc. The symptoms and lesions in this model animal were similar to those in human after infection with Clonorchis sinensis.
Application: The model replicated by this method can be used for experimental studies on the pathogenic effects of metacercaria of Clonorchis sinensis.
Delivery content: experiment report and Clonorchis sinensis animal model
Test fee: please get it through online inquiry.
